Can You File for Divorce Online in Kansas?
In today’s online society, it is possible to do many things without ever leaving the comfort of your home. It makes sense, then, that many people inquire about filing for divorce online. If you want to file for divorce online, my process may be exactly what you are looking for.
Kansas does not offer a true online divorce process
First, I should clarify that—contrary to what you may have seen in some misleading online advertisements—a layperson cannot file for a divorce online in Kansas. As of the writing of this blog post, Kansas courts do not offer this feature.
That being said, I have developed a divorce process that is just as convenient as an “online” divorce.
My online process
When you hire me for your divorce, I will have you fill out a questionnaire on my website. This will take you between 5-10 minutes. Once that is finished, I will prepare the Kansas divorce papers and email them to you. You will print them out and sign them in front of a notary before scanning and emailing them back to me. After that, you will just sit back and let me handle everything. You won’t have to go to court or appear in front of a judge.
The total time commitment on your end will be around 30 minutes. Further, if you really don’t want to leave the comfort of your home, many notaries will travel to you. This means you can get your divorce without ever leaving your house!
